"Aunt Kim's Attic was founded in 2001 by Kim Davis. We are located in Calera, Alabama which is in central Alabama near Birmingham. While visiting my sister's family in Austin, TX right after the birth of my neice, Ashleigh, we decided to purchase an unfinished rocker that I would paint as a gift for her. We were both amazed at how well it turned out! When her friends saw it, they wanted me to do something for them too. Thus Aunt Kim's Attic was created.

Since then my husband Gary and I began selling our products at various craft shows in Alabama. The response became so overwhelming that we cannot do many craft shows anymore. Aunt Kim's Attic has grown into a thriving business featuring a lot more than just the custom painted furniture since we began in 2001.

My mother, Patsy Brown (aka Maggie Rae) has been instrumental in the development of the business over the years. She makes some of the wonderful children's clothing, tee pee's, nap mats, and other various sewn and embroidered items you will find on the website. She is very meticulous about quality as you will notice in all of her products. She has also become quite adept in helping me paint the furniture in a pinch - thank God for Mamas!!"
